IT Graduate / Consultant

Location : Mike’s Carpet Discounters, Carrum Downs / Glenwaverley / Rosebud. 

Employment type : Full time – Fixed term contract.

About the role

To provide our customers with a superior level of service in order to achieve customer satisfaction.

Working in a very fast paced and friendly environment with a young and dynamic team, you will assist customers with general enquiries regarding all types of carpet, flooring, window finishes and play a key role in the ongoing success of our operations.

The key skills / responsibilities of this role will be:

  • Strong business stakeholder engagement and influential skills.
  • Ability to work seamlessly with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage and facilitate the CRM system, including training, upskill, reporting and technical support / solutions.
  • Act as the SME for all integrated support platforms.
  • Confident knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript, Bootstrap, JQuery, MySQL, Ract & Node.js.
  • Domain management and DNS management.
  • Knowledge of WHM & CPanel.
  • Confident with WordPress knowledge.
  • Understanding of responsive web design and browser restriction.
  • Experience with E-Commerce application (WooCommerce, Shopify and Magento).
  • Knowledge of Adobe products.
  • Providing technical systems support, diagnosing problems and investigation of queries.
  • Understanding of Miscrosoft windows server, and desktop operating systems.
  • Understanding of Microsoft products including Microsoft Office and 365.
  • Understanding of cloud (hosted), virtualisation and virtual environments.
  • Network and operating system troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of VoIP technologies.
  • Technical documentation capability.
  • Utilisation of ITIL practices.

To be considered for this role, you will have the following attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or Computer Science, or similar with a distinction average (or close to).

This is a hands-on role for a proactive all-rounder that is great with handling customers, installers, suppliers and can develop meaningful relationships, problem solve with ease and likes to have some fun along the way. The nature of a finishing trade will involve some issues, therefore the ability to analyse problems, determine the best options available and utilise existing relationships with customers, trades, or suppliers to resolve the issue is paramount.

Key attributes that are fundamental to the team are passion for quality, self-motivation, and teamwork for the role. We are seeking someone who has the requisite skillset, although has some developmental goals that will entail growing with our business.

The key responsibilities of this role will be:

  • Answering of phones in a professional and timely manner
  • Meeting & greeting customers in the showroom
  • Providing a professional customer experience
  • Provide quotes to customers whilst they are in the showroom or via online medium
  • Book in-home visits to carry out measure and quote
  • Follow up with customers in a proactive and professional manner to convert sales
  • Work collaboratively with on road and onsite team members
  • Ensuring shop is opened on time, and closed with all opening and closing checklists ticked off
  • Utilising various systems and tools to estimate and quote jobs
  • Performing site visits for the purpose of client engagement, assessment, measuring and setting realistic expectations about project delivery
  • Planning and coordinating installations
  • Professionally handing and managing irate customers or customer escalations from both customers and installers including problem solving, managing customer expectations, and finding a mutually agreeable solution

To be considered for this role, you will have the following attributes:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales
  • The drive to exceed sales goals and KPI’s
  • Clean, professional presentation
  • Strong follow-up skills
  • Computer literate
  • Fluent in English
  • Valid Victorian Drivers’ License 
  • Ability to work on a rotating roster, and work weekends

Retail Operations Assistant / Consultant

Retail Operations Assistant - consultant job

About the role

Working in a very fast paced and friendly environment with a young and dynamic team. 

The key responsibilities of this role will be:

  • Time processing of incoming of product deliveries in a professional manner
  • Unloading and appropriate placement of stock in the warehouse (heavy lifting will be involved), allocating / reallocating / converting stock
  • Assisting with returns
  • Printing pick up slips for appropriate order based on daily workflow requirements
  • Picking, packing and dispatching of daily orders for multiple business units
  • Assisting with product returns and recalls
  • Unloading containers
  • Using different online portals to book and plan jobs
  • Initiating and participating in regular stock take cycles
  • Assist with maintaining warehouse equipment and cleanliness
  • Providing a professional customer experience
  • Follow up with customers in a proactive and professional manner
  • Work collaboratively with on road and onsite team members

You must have good work ethics, clear and effective communication skills, not afraid to get hands on and assist with product distribution and handling while working autonomously as part of a close knit team.

The key to be successful in this role will be passion for quality, can do attitude, self-motivation, teamwork and willingness to always learn.
